Ezhimala Hill
Ezhimala, which is part of Ramanthali panchayath, is one of the most important places in history in northern Kerala. Mooshika Vamsham written by Athulan in the 10th century, shedding light on the history of the royal family Mushika especially in the north and Kerala in general. The first recorded King Mooshika Vamsham (Mooshika Dynasty) was Ramaghata Mooshika, and its capital was Ezhimala.
Athula describes the last kings of this dynasty, now better known as Kolathiri dynasty. King successors Ramaghata Pazhi Mushika is transferred to its capital (the present town of Pazhayangadi) Valabhapattanam (Valapattanam), and other nearby places for centuries.
