Located on the banks of the river Karuvannur, legend says Arattupuzha was the meeting place for all gods in the world until the flood ravaged area and forced some participants to respond to 14 km north of the village Thrissur town. The ceremony Arattupuzha is still very popular, but it is much less known than the ceremony Trichur. The ceremony Arattupuzha is commonly called "grandfather of all Pooram." It takes place in front of the famous Sree Sastha Temple, a temple considered more than 3,000 years.

The sixth day of the seven-day festival at the temple Arattupuzha, 61 gaily decorated elephants of the temple, along with the temple of music Panchavadyam, nadaswaram, and pacharimelam pandimelam.

Arattupuzha has a temperate climate during the months of December through February until the heat begins in March. The mansoon people hit hard in the months from June to September, sparatic thunderstorms can be seen in the months of October and November.

Arattupuzha is available on NH highway 47 through the secondary roads that pass through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Kerala. Arattupuzha is only 12 km away from the city limits Trichur. It covers both the NH 47 and NH 17
