Peermede, the hill station of Kerala State, India. It is high in Western Ghats, 915 m above sea level, and 85 km east of Kottayam on the way to Thekkady.

Peer Made Landscape includes waterfalls, grass open countryside and pine forests.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the largest nature reserves in India, is 43 miles. It has herds of elephants and other wildlife, and lakes.

The name is sometimes linked to the Sufi saint, Peer Mohammed, or means "hill of peers."

The area is very fertile and the area was until recently the lush plantations of coffee, tea, cardamom and coconut.  in an area with a long history of spices is growing, is now focusing on organic black pepper, black pepper, ginger and turmeric.

In a recent show producers Peermade spices displayed samples of organic cultivation of spices like cardamom, black pepper, white pepper, nutmeg, mace, cloves, turmeric, ginger, vanilla, vanilla powder and herbs such as oregano, sage, thyme and rosemary. Essential oils of thyme and rosemary were also displayed.
