Folklore Museum

family lifestyles, rural and traditional agrarian economy of the Maltese archipelago is represented in the folklore museum, the walls of the Citadel in Rabat, Gozo. A group of houses dating back to the early 16th Century houses the museum until 1983. This is a testimony of many skills, crafts and traditions that have shaped life on the islands.

The architectural features are Sicilian style, and may owe something to the effect Chiaramonte family in Sicily and southern Italy, where they were Counts of Malta in the late 14th century

Delicate baroque facades internal offset relative simplicity, the museum contains a variety of traditional implement used in agriculture and to deal with in everyday life
